Legacy Marketing Group partners with Malibu Life USA for annuity launch
Legacy Marketing Group on Aug. 25 announced a distribution partnership with Malibu Life USA ahead of the planned September 2026 launch of two fixed indexed annuities.
Under the agreement, Legacy will distribute the products, PillarMark and SpireMark, through its network of independent marketing organizations and insurance agents.
The annuities will be issued by TruSpire Retirement Insurance Co., Malibu Life USA's Texas-domiciled insurer.
The partnership comes as demand for indexed annuities continues to grow. U.S. fixed indexed annuity sales reached a record $127.9 billion in 2025, marking the fifth consecutive year of growth, according to LIMRA.
Indexed products, including fixed indexed annuities and registered index-linked annuities, made up about 45% of total annuity sales last year, up from 24% a decade earlier.
For Malibu Life, the agreement represents another step in its expansion into the U.S. retirement market. The company completed its acquisition of TruSpire Retirement Insurance Co. in July, establishing Malibu Life USA as its U.S. retail insurance brand and annuity origination platform.
Industry reports said the acquisition gave Malibu access to broad state licensing, an approved fixed indexed annuity product and established distribution channels.
According to the companies, PillarMark is designed for clients seeking deferred lifetime income with the potential for increasing payouts over time. SpireMark is being positioned as a fee-based annuity for clients seeking more flexible income options, including earlier income opportunities. Detailed product specifications have not yet been publicly released.
PillarMark and SpireMark are expected to launch in September, subject to regulatory approvals and business readiness requirements.
